Lifetime Movie Review - Sugar Babies

Where to start? maybe this isn't a review...just my take on the movie.

First, I think I heard about a real website like the one these girls were using on the movie - a convenient place where they can find a sugar daddy. I like the way Lifetime showed you the glamour of this screwy lifestyle of young girls accompanying much older men soley for money and gifts.

Then, flip the script - they show you how one girl falls in love with her sugar daddy and he ignores her and kicks her to the curb when he's done using her. The other girls also realize that their sugar-baby lifestyles isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Bottom line - work hard for what you want. Some of the girls learned this in the end.

On a 5-point scale, I'd give this movie 3 our of 5 stars.

BTW...the mixologist-in-a-movie lady was getting on my nerves.

3 Reasons Why Natural Hair May Not Be For You

With everyone you know going natural, you figure it's your time to let go of the relaxer and just dive right in with the "natural hair movement." That's what I did...guilty as charged! But before you do the BIG chop, you may want to really sit down and think about it.

I've been natural for three and a half years. My hair has grown more than it has ever grown in my life. I had attempted to go natural before this three and a half year stretch, but after three months, I couldn't take it. The second time around proved to be a lot better. But there were (and still are) challenges. If you're straddling the fence unsure if natural hair is the route you want to take, here are five reasons I don't like being natural.

1. My hair is not easily stylable.

My hair texture is 4C. It's tightly wound with absolutely no, I repeat, no curl definition whatsoever. Skip the products that claim to be able to curl 4C hair. Lies, I tell you. All lies. Now you can get some curl definition with a twist out, braid out, coil out...whatever. But guess what? It'll only last a day or two. Then you're back to square one. I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair. If you're thinking of going natural, you will find yourself spending insane amounts of time doing your hair.

2. Washing/co-washing is a nightmare every single time.

Tangles, single-strand never ends, and there is no easy process to prevent this from occurring. That's why naturals do not wash their hair frequently.

3. The breakage and shedding is real.

My hair seems to shed more now than it did when I was relaxed. Every time I wash my hair, I end up with a huge ball of hair that's shed hair or broken off hair. In this fourth year of being natural, my hair seems a lot less fuller than it was two years ago.

So try it at your own risk, beauties. At this point in my natural hair journey, I'm realizing that natural and relaxed hair both come with their fair share of problems. Be sure to check out my shop to find your natural hair care products!

Lifetime Movie Review - Kept Woman

Goodness, Lifetime, what is going on here?

I've seen way too many movies on Lifetime with this premise:

Couple moves to new town. Neighbor seems nice. Neighbor not so nice after all. Neighbor is a psychopath. Wife tries to warn her husband that neighbor is not so nice. Husband gets mad at wife and calls her crazy. Wife comes up missing. Wife is in the neighbors basement, being held against her will. Husband doesn't know where wife is. Now wife has to find a way to escape.

I give this movie 1 out of 5 stars because this concept has been done to death. I can't be the only person who realizes this...

Vasanti BrightenUp! | BIRCHBOX | Product Review

I received a sample of the Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator in my December 2014 BIRCHBOX. Just the name of the product had me anxious to try it. Face it ladies, we all have skin problems and are looking for the next thing to try to help relieve/prevent breakouts. So I tried this exfoliating cleanser and it was awesome! It contains coconut, aloe vera and papaya. I'm all for natural ingredients and this product is 99% natural. No parabens. No sulfates.

The directions say to wet your face then massage in a circular motion. I have to tell you...the micro-crystals rubbing against my face made me feel like I was in a spa, getting a professional facial. Awesome! I would highly recommend this product. It left my skin feeling smooth and clean.
